The sky is the limit! We can work with photos of your pets, personal artwork, tattoo designs, family portraits, landscapes - you name it. Our in-house graphic designers specialize in turning your ideas into stunning board graphics. The only restriction is that we cannot print artwork that infringes on the intellectual property of another company or artist. That means no copyrighted logos, album covers, fine art, TV/movie characters, or video game characters unless you own the rights or have written legal permission from the owner. If the art belongs to you or was created for you, we're good to go. Not sure if your idea works? Just reach out and run it by us - no judgment, ever.

You choose how you’d like to collaborate with our Artist - via text, email, DM, etc. - and we’ll kick off the Creative Process. They'll ask you to share your initial ideas.  Some folks have a really good idea of what they’re looking for, and others might just know a color or pattern they want to see - the more detail you provide, the better. From there, the designer will work with you to develop a concept and refine the design until you're completely happy with it. You'll have the opportunity to review and approve the final design before it goes into production. The whole experience is collaborative and fun, it's one of the things our customers love most about GILSON.

Yes! When you purchase a custom board, your one-of-a-kind graphics can be built on any of the board models and sizes that Gilson offers.  If you're not sure which model or size is right for you and your riding style don’t worry - one of our Gilson Builders will be here to walk you through the options to ensure we build your custom board on the perfect model to fit your riding.

Our fully custom snowboard option is $1,150. This includes working one-on-one with a Gilson graphic designer to create a completely original design built to your vision, plus the board itself built on any of the board models we offer. For our 2026 Summer Customs program, we’re offering a $200 discount, which brings the price down to $950.  

We also offer discounts to military members, first responders, and outdoor industry professionals — just reach out to us for verification and we'll set you up with a personal discount code. Payment plans are available at checkout as well, so you can break the cost into installments with Shop Pay.

Designing and building a Custom 1-of-1 Snowboard is one of the coolest things any rider can do.  A number of factors affect the timeframe, including how many iterations you go through with our Artists, our current build backlog, and shipping options.  The normal process takes roughly 45 days, but during peak season this can be longer.  Our 2026 Summer Custom Program will guarantee delivery by the start of next season (September 1st) and is a great way to ensure you’ll get the coolest new ride under your feet for your first runs of the season.

Absolutely — pet boards are one of our most popular custom requests! Whether it's a dog, cat, or any other furry (or not-so-furry) family member, our graphic designers are experienced at turning photos into beautiful board art. Many customers honor pets who have passed away, celebrate current companions, or combine multiple pets into one design. Just send us clear, high-quality photos from multiple angles and let us know any special touches you'd like — halos, angel wings, backgrounds, you name it. The more reference photos you provide, the better our artists can capture the details of your pet's unique look.

That’s completely normal — and no problem at all. Some customers come to us with a detailed mockup, exact colors, and a clear vision ready to go. Others start with something as simple as “I love the color teal” or “I want something inspired by the mountains.” Both are perfect starting points. Our graphic designers are here to collaborate with you and help bring your idea to life, no matter where you’re starting from. Just share what’s on your mind — a vibe, a color palette, a rough concept, a photo that inspires you — and our artist will take it from there. That’s the beauty of the 1-on-1 custom process: you’re working directly with a real designer who will guide you through the creative journey and make sure the final product is something you’re stoked on.
